 Massage Therapy FAQs

  • During a massage therapy session, you will typically be asked to lie on a comfortable massage table while the therapist uses various techniques and strokes to address your specific needs and goals. The therapist may use their hands, fingers, elbows, or even specialized tools to apply pressure and manipulate the soft tissues. The session can be tailored to focus on specific areas of the body or provide a full-body massage. The therapist will communicate with you to ensure your comfort and adjust the pressure as needed.

  • Massage therapy is generally not painful, although some techniques or deep tissue work may cause temporary discomfort or mild soreness, especially if you have areas of tension or muscle knots. It's important to communicate with your massage therapist about your comfort level throughout the session. They can adjust the pressure or technique to ensure it remains within your comfort zone. It's normal to experience a mix of sensations, including relief, relaxation, and occasional mild discomfort during the session.

  • The duration of a massage therapy session can vary depending on your preferences and the treatment plan established with your therapist. Our sessions are 30 minutes, 45 minutes and 60 minutes. The length of the session can depend on factors such as the type of massage, the areas being treated, and your specific goals or needs. Your therapist can recommend an appropriate session length based on your individual circumstances.

  • Depending on your comfort level, you may choose from sheets covering (undergarments on), or clothed. To ensure optimal treatment, please wear shorts if you have any discomfort or issues related to your lower body, and opt for a tank top or T-shirt if you have any concerns regarding your upper body. Ensuring access to the relevant areas of concern will enable us to provide targeted care and address your specific needs appropriately.

Due to the close proximity and hands on treatment of the patient from the practitioner, we kindly request that you maintain good hygiene prior to your treatment.

  • The frequency of massage therapy sessions depends on various factors, including your specific goals, the condition being treated, and your overall health. For general relaxation and stress reduction, scheduling a massage once a month may be sufficient. However, if you're seeking treatment for a specific injury or chronic condition, more frequent sessions may be recommended initially. Your massage therapist can assess your situation and provide guidance on the ideal frequency of sessions to achieve the desired outcomes.
